Courtney's Skin Care Regimen

I've told you before (when I told you about Beauty School) that my whole life, I've never really had any kind of skin care regimen. High school, college, & until now, I've only ever used some kind of face wash & at some point I started using moisturizer. I had a short stint in college when I used an eye cream because someone told me I was at the age where one needed to start doing so.

This past summer, I decided to start learning about Young Living's skin care products. Since then, I have pieced together my current regimen as I experimented & learned more about what I needed. I think I have finally settled in to a regimen perfect for me. My skin really responds well to what I use & I think this is really good timing, as I turn 30 this month & I have started to see those laugh lines start to show up. I'm going to take care of my skin as best as I can now so it's healthy later.

Here is my current skin care regimen. Do remember that this has been a 6-7 month process to slowly add in all of these elements. Also, these products last a really long time, so the cost is spread out over several months, or even half a year.

Morning:

I wash my face in the shower with my ART Gentle Cleanser. I really like this cleanser. It has some great oils in it & smells wonderful. Then the first thing I put on my face after I get out of the shower is the Renewal Serum. I then top it with the ART Light Moisturizer.

Evening:

I take a bath every evening (& I think it's weird that so many people are surprised by that - what's not to love about a bath to end your day?!) & this is what I use to wash my face then. The Orange Blossom face wash is super concentrated so you can either use just a dab, or you can put two tablespoons of the wash in a foaming dispenser, mixed with water. That's what I do, & I use two pumps every evening to wash my face. Then once a week, I use the Satin Mint Facial Scrub (after cleansing) to exfoliate my skin. I love this stuff! It smells so yummy, like mint & green tea, & if I close my eyes & try real hard, I can pretend to be at the spa. I leave it on for a few minutes then rinse.

After I wash my face in the evenings, I get a cotton ball, halve it, & use one half to take the makeup off my eyes (using coconut oil), then put a bit of toner on the other half to clean off any remaining junk off my face & close up my pores. Then I put two drops of my homemade serum (explained below) in my hands & rub it on my face & neck. I then get a small bit of the Boswellia Wrinkle Cream on my finger, dab it in spots on my face & neck, then rub it in. This is a recent addition to my routine & I didn't realize how much my skin needed a deep moisturizer. I love it! Then I get a small amount (really, all of these go a long way!) of the Wolfberry Eye Cream & lightly rub it around my eyes, focusing most on my under eye circles & laugh line area.

These oils are all really beneficial for skin, so when I got my Aroma Complete kit, I immediately made this serum. This particular batch is 20 drops of Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood, 20 drops of Elemi, & 15 drops of Myrrh. I then dilute by half with almond oil. I also have another serum that I received at our local Beauty School that contains frankincense, myrrh, & rose oil. I use that only on occasion because rose is so expensive!

Young Living has another product called Sheerlume - it's a brightening cream that I would totally use if I had uneven skin tone or sun/age spots. I will probably get it eventually but am happy with my current regimen.

There you have it! My skin loves these products. They're nontoxic (which I LOVE & is the primary reason I use them) & contain essential oils that are not only beneficial for my skin, but for my whole body. Oh & they work!

Since I know it's a lot at once, if I were to recommend only three products to someone, I'd start with the ART Gentle Cleanser, the Satin Mint Facial Scrub, & the Boswellia Wrinkle Cream. Okay, make it four & add in the ART Light Moisturizer. ;)

If you are interested in getting your hands on any of these products, please email me at goinggranolablog@gmail.com; I'd love to help you!
