Delicious Beef Fried Rice!

Since my post last week about fair trade, Jen Hatmaker has also come out with a list of fair trade companies that are worth checking out. I love how she puts it - buy once, give twice.

I'd also like to let you know that I've used my all-natural spray starch that I bought at the Quarry Farmers Market & it works great! So if you don't want to spray toxins out of an aerosol can when you iron, go get you some! Check out the Organic Chix website. They also have laundry detergent, wool dryer balls, & more.

Also - remember my 10% cash back on the Premium Starter Kit deal going on this week, along with Young Living's 10% off deal on two of their starter kits. Look at all this good stuff you could get for only $135! You have until midnight on Friday!

Now, for the recipe - I made this fried rice recipe two nights ago. I followed it almost totally - of course I omitted the onions (barf) & I added an extra egg because I love eggy fried rice. I had decided though that I wanted to add some meat to it to make it more substantial. At the grocery store, I was looking for small chunks of pork but ended up buying beef stew meat. I cut the pieces down to be more bite-sized, then added plenty of salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, & a little bit of ginger powder. I threw them on a hot skillet with some olive oil & cooked them on medium heat until they were cooked through & had a nice, flavorful browning on the sides. I tossed the meat with the finished fried rice. I tell you, I don't usually demand a high-five for my dinners, but this one I did, & the Hubs gave it gladly because he thought it was awesome too!

(Note: I didn't add oyster sauce because I couldn't find any that didn't have disgusting stuff added to it. I did find an organic & gluten free soy sauce - definitely go organic with soy sauce so you don't end up consuming GMOs. Also found a good sesame oil that didn't have anything added to it. CHECK YOUR LABELS!)
