Helping Lessen the Appearance of Scars

I have the worlds most unfortunately sensitive skin. Any bump can cause me bruising. I get razor burn on my legs if I don't shave consistently. I can get a lovely rash when exposed to certain chemicals. Mosquito bites bruise on me. And heaven forbid I mess with a zit, because I will have a purple mark on my skin for months.

I've been trying to find ways to improve old scars, as well as new, more temporary ones. Well, I have found the way to quickly decrease the appearance of those temporary purpley scars! (Usual Disclaimer: Everyone is different. My method may not work for your skin type.)

A couple weeks ago I got eaten by fleas. Don't ask. I am forever traumatized. But I digress. This week, I noticed all the bites had turned the typical purple that I am used to dealing with after any bug bite.

Without really thinking, I made a paste of about a tablespoon of coconut oil, a drop of Lavender essential oil and a drop of Frankincense essential oil. All are great for encouraging the normal regeneration of skin cell damaged.

I've been applying this after every bath or shower and before bed for the past week. I should have taken a before picture, but I honestly didn't think it would do anything! Now I am full of regrets! While the marks are not completely gone, it has decreased significantly faster then I have ever experienced.

As far as long term, more intense scars (like pregnancy scars), I have had to come to terms with them. Some times scars don't heal fully. All you can really do it take care of your skin in hopes that it stays healthy. BUT applying my homemade lotion with Frankincense has really helped firm the skin that was damaged after pregnancy.
