One Randomly Thrown Together Post

The past couple of weeks have been crazy, with packing up the past 6.5 years of our lives into boxes & moving them into a new house, & now unpacking & settling in.We are beyond thankful to Jesus that He has provided for us – He provided our wonderful first home, & He has provided this new one – one not better than the other, but different. We are excited to see what this new phase of life will look like, & praying for relationships with neighbors & the future growth of our family (no, that is not a hint of any kind, so don’t get antsy!).

That being said, my brain has been a little distracted lately, so here are some random thoughts of the “natural living” kind (including some confessions because stress makes me want to eat & do things I shouldn’t!).

- I finally tried coconut oil as eye makeup remover, & was glad to find that it works great! (I hear it works for all makeup, but I don't wear any on my face besides blush, so I can't verify.) Coconut oil is so good for skin so I know it's a better option than those chemical-filled ones. I keep a small container in my bathroom (also handy for diluting some essential oils) & get a little bit on a cotton ball then rub away the makeup.

- With the craziness of life recently, my wonderful strides previously made in not using the microwave anymore were quickly forgotten when I just didn't want another pan to wash. I'll get back to it... I have, at least, stuck with warming up my coffee on the stove.

- I read this article last night about a study suggesting that the preventative use of probiotics may help us get over sickness better than the use of antibiotics

- During the packing & moving stage, I had decided - a few too many times - that we deserved a treat (please tell me I'm not the only one who tells themselves when stressed that they deserve stuff they don't usually allow). The boys & I were taking in gluten almost daily, which you might remember doesn't serve us very well. Whoops. (Except not really "whoops" because it was totally my choice.)

- I found a recipe for a brussels sprout hash that I'm planning to make tonight. Roasted brussels sprouts, potatoes, bacon... I'll post the recipe if turns out well!

I think that's all I've got for now. I'd like to go enjoy a few quiet (mindless, blog-reading) moments before the boys wake up. :)
