A Day in the Life of an Oiler

Today I am so excited to be linking up with a blog series called "A Day in the Life of an Oiler." This whole week, different bloggers have been posting about how they use their oils in a typical day. (If you are here for the first time, welcome! I hope you'll stick around!)

5:45 a.m. – After I take a shower, I apply two drops of Progessence Plus on my wrist/forearm area & rub it in. I LOVE THIS STUFF.

8:00 a.m. – Little Man wakes up & needs oils. Poor guy has been suffering. I apply two drops of R.C. on his chest, have him breathe it in, then get all the Lavender I can muster out of my almost-empty bottle & rub it on the back of his neck.

8:30 a.m. – About to head out the door. Fill my glass water bottle with three drops of Grapefruit oil & water. (Citrus oils are so good for you, & they taste yummy too! The Hubs & Little Man both drink citrus in their water as well.)

2:30 p.m. – Refill my glass water bottle, this time with three drops of Lemon.
4:00 p.m. – Heading out the door after getting the house ready for two showings this evening. Put four drops of Christmas Spirit in the diffuser & turn it on so the house smells warm & homey. (We got four offers in two days! I'm sure it was the Christmas Spirit.) :)

6:30 p.m. – Getting Doodles ready for bed. I apply a drop of Peace & Calming to each foot & Thieves to his spine. (Why the feet? Your feet have the biggest pores on your body, so the oils absorb quickly. Also, no need to dilute oils when they go straight on the feet.)
8:00 p.m. – Little Man is heading to bed. He always wants me to put oils on him before bed. I apply Thieves to his spine, Peace & Calming to his feet (this one needs it more than his brother does), & R.C. to his chest. If only I had more Lavender!

8:15 p.m. – I head to the bathtub for 20 minutes of downtime. I mix four drops of Stress Away in a cup of Epsom salts (so it evenly disperses in the water) & throw it in the tub. The lime & vanilla in it smell delicious!
8:45 p.m. – Two more drops of Progessence Plus, this time on my neck. Did I mention this stuff smells good too?
9:30 p.m. – Forcing myself to stay up for thirty more minutes to watch a show with the hubs. I apply Peace & Calming to my feet so when I get to bed in 30 minutes I’ll be completely ready to conk out. (I love P&C! It’s my favorite. I also use it during the day if I'm a bit high-strung, or sometimes just as a perfume because I love the smell.)

Every day is different, but that's an example of how we maintain health in our family using essential oils. We use them for too many things to count. I am so thankful that The Hubs wants our family to be as natural as possible, & he has encouraged the use of essential oils 100% in our home. It only took a couple uses of Deep Relief & Peppermint for him to be fully on board!

If you're feeling overwhelmed... don't! It takes some time to learn about oils & what they can do, but it's so fun to see them work! If you are interested in naturally caring for your family using essential oils, or simply have some questions, shoot me an email at goinggranolablog@gmail.com (or email whoever introduced you to the Day in the Life of an Oiler series)!
